Position Summary We are seeking a skilled professional to operate various conventional and/or numerically controlled machining centers on semi-complex jobs. The role involves working from blueprints, sketches, planning sheets, verbal instructions, and/or engineering, tooling, or equipment information. The successful candidate will contribute to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs and will work with limited guidance in a team environment. Responsibilities Set up and run multiple production machines. Perform machine operations such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, and reaming parts. Align and fasten work using standard fixtures and established methods. Install and adjust cutting tools consistent with the type and size of material being machined. Follow established manufacturing methods using standard production machines, materials, and tooling. Adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts, per documentation. Operate hand and power tools to deburr precision and complex machine parts according to engineering blueprints and route sheets to close tolerances. Inspect parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers, micrometers, and comparators. Routinely maintain equipment to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability. Accurately and regularly perform statistical process control (SPC). Actively implement lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions for improvement. Observe all company policies and procedures, including safety rules, and maintain a clean and orderly work area. Perform other related responsibilities as requested. Job Requirements Three years of related machining experience. Able to work with limited guidance in a team environment. Able to make machine setups. Read and follow blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions. Have working knowledge of machine shop mathematics, including trigonometry. Able to effectively apply lean initiatives. Demonstrate effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment. Interpret reports and use job-specific software applications. Able to use employee self-service systems to access online information and use specialized automated systems. Effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities. Shift Details This is a direct hire position for the 2nd shift, with hours from 1:45 PM to 11:15 PM, Monday through Friday.
