Job Details Position Type: Travel Nurse, Full Time (Travel assignment) Location: On-site in San Marcos, TX (Zip: 78666) - San Marcos healthcare jobs / Texas nursing jobs Unit: Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry Shift: 12 Hour Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Start Date: March 30, 2026 Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (with potential to extend) Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Salary: $1460-$1540/week Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state Current BLS certification (AHA only) Current ACLS certification (AHA only) At least 1 year of clinical experience in Cardiac Stepdown, Telemetry, or similar cardiac/medical-surgical specialty Experience with telemetry/cardiac monitoring and basic ECG rhythm interpretation preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire Successful completion of competency validation and annual requirements Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Stepdown unit using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation Perform continuous cardiac/telemetry monitoring, recognize dysrhythmias, and escalate care per protocol Administer medications and treatments according to protocol; monitor for side effects and therapeutic effectiveness Document patient history, symptoms, medications, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record Assess patient and family learning needs and provide tailored education on diagnosis, medications, and discharge planning Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families with compassionate, patient-centered care Delegate tasks appropriately and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure safe, coordinated care Participate in ongoing competency assessments, skills validation, and quality improvement initiatives Why Join Our Team Opportunity to advance your cardiac nursing and telemetry skills as a travel nurse in San Marcos, TX Work in a welcoming community with a scenic river, vibrant downtown, and easy access to Austin and San Antonio Travel nursing opportunities with professional development and network growth in Texas nursing jobs Apply now to join our healthcare team as a Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) - travel nursing positions in San Marcos, TX fill quickly.
