Field Technician

Responsibilities: Conduct steel structure foundation and repair inspections Perform substation foundation and repair inspections Oversee wood pole treatment and testing methods Manage steel structure coating crews Evaluate transmission structures to assess the health of electrical circuits Assess storm damage and support emergency restoration crews Requirements: 5 years of active field experience Proficiency in computer skills for daily and weekly report documentation Capability in photo documentation with working knowledge of Word and Excel Travel requirement based on project location Knowledge of transmission line work, foundations, and stringing of conductors Understanding of transmission substations and facilities Familiarity with QA/QC inspections and reporting practices Knowledge of various electronics used to create reports Required Skills: Current and valid driver's license Must be a US Citizen Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications Proficient in both verbal and written communication Ability to create detailed reports Physical Requirements: Occasional overtime may be required Able and willing to travel in OH, PA, Virginia, WV, Jersey, Maryland based on current location Ability to drive to job location as part of the workday Must be able to wear company-provided PPE for the entire shift while onsite Able to lift a minimum of 30lbs or more at any given time throughout the day Must be able to walk up to 3 miles per day across rough terrain and/or unlevel surfaces
