Your Role As a Lead Engineer specializing in Agentic AI, you will: Design and implement AI-native workflows aimed at amplifying engineering productivity and operational excellence across our AI Platform. Serve as a key Senior Individual Contributor, focused on developing intelligent agents that analyze and execute across various systems. Construct AI agents for observability, automated root cause analysis, and enhancing engineering efficiency. Create innovative workflows that seamlessly blend across telemetry pipelines, application frameworks, and cloud platforms. Develop AI-driven tools to improve development speed and reduce operational burdens. Utilize large language models (LLMs) and reasoning frameworks to automate debugging and system diagnostics. Encourage the adoption of AI-focused development practices throughout application and platform engineering teams. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering groups to integrate smart automation into existing workflows. Your contributions will significantly influence how Teradata operates its AI-powered platform, creating measurable improvements in efficiency and system reliability. Your Team In your role, you will collaborate with a team responsible for: Building automation and agentic frameworks that drive next-generation applications and operational insights. Working closely with the VP of AI Apps Tooling & Automation. Driving AI-first development and intelligent tooling initiatives. Enabling other engineering teams to effectively and responsibly embrace AI solutions. Partnering with AI research, platform engineering, and product teams to embed automation into our core offerings. Playing a vital role in executing Teradata's AI-first vision by transforming software development processes. What You Bring A minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience with substantial exposure to AI/ML systems in live environments. A track record of creating AI agents, LLM-enabled systems, or autonomous processes. Proficiency in Python, with experience in Java or Go as an additional strength. Experience with distributed systems, telemetry data, and observability architecture. Foundational AI skills including prompt engineering, model evaluation, and reasoning frameworks, with an ability to harness AI for operational enhancement. A history of building intelligent systems focused on observability or smart diagnostics. Familiarity with observability tools like OpenTelemetry or Prometheus. Proven success integrating LLMs into production workflows with robust evaluation frameworks. A strong grasp of AI-enabled development tools for optimizing productivity. Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence peers and leaders within engineering. A passion for leveraging AI to unlock potential for teams, customers, and communities alike.
