Position Overview We are searching for a Senior Financial Analyst who will play a vital role in shaping our product costing and pricing strategy for SaaS offerings. In this essential position, you'll conduct thorough financial analyses to identify cost drivers, inform pricing decisions, and uncover opportunities for improving profitability. The ideal candidate will combine technical financial skills with exceptional collaborative abilities across Product, Sales, and Operations teams. Key Responsibilities Cost Analysis & Financial Modeling Perform comprehensive costing analysis for SaaS products, including Cloud and On-Premise infrastructures, hardware, support services, and licensing. Develop detailed cost models to evaluate the impact of revenue drivers on P&L performance and gross margins. Create and maintain strong financial models to track product delivery costs, allocation methods, and unit economics. Assess cost structures across diverse product lines and customer segments to enhance pricing and market strategies. Establish methods for the fair allocation of support and service costs across products and customer segments. Pricing Strategy Support Work closely with Product Pricing, Management, and Deal Desk teams to evaluate and suggest pricing strategies. Build and sustain pricing models and tools for data-driven pricing decisions and profitability assessments. Analyze business metrics to guide discussions regarding pricing strategy. Support pricing optimization initiatives by studying price elasticity, competitive positioning, and margin effects. Ensure pricing decisions are informed by accurate and up-to-date cost data and financial objectives. Financial Statement Analysis & Reporting Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of financial statements, focusing on P&L dynamics, revenue costs, and gross margin drivers. Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to pricing effectiveness, cost optimization, and margin performance. Examine variances between actual costs and forecasts, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions. Create insightful presentations and financial reports for executives, translating complex analyses into actionable insights. Cross-Functional Partnership & Systems Support Assist in improving pricing systems (CPQ) for accurate pricing and efficient quoting workflows. Provide analytical support for the implementation of pricing systems and process enhancements. Communicate financial analysis and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strategic Analysis & Projects Lead analytical projects focused on identifying profit improvement opportunities. Respond to ad hoc financial analysis requests for new product launches, pricing modifications, or cost management initiatives. Participate in special projects aimed at redesigning cost structures, enhancing margins, or transforming pricing strategies. Collaborative Environment Engage closely with Finance, Product Management, Sales Operations, Customer Support, and Go-to-Market teams. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Mathematics, or a related field. 5-7 years of relevant experience in finance, focusing on cost accounting, FP&A, or pricing analysis. 2-3 years of experience in technology, particularly in software, cloud, or SaaS environments. Proven expertise in cost modeling, margin analysis, and understanding product delivery economics. Strong knowledge of financial statements, especially P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis, with a concentration on revenue costs and profitability. Technical & Analytical Skills Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling, data analysis, and report generation. Deep understanding of SaaS business models and their cost structures. Familiarity with subscription pricing models and recurring revenue frameworks. Knowledgeable in cost allocation and activity-based costing principles. Understanding of technology infrastructure costs and service delivery economics. Experience with CPQ systems or related pricing tools is an advantage. Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills. What You Will Bring Demonstrated success in cost modeling, margin forecasting, and developing pricing strategies. Experience analyzing cost of goods sold (COGS) in relevant technology sectors. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure costs (AWS, Azure, GCP). Knowledge of professional services and support cost modeling. Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI. Understanding of SaaS revenue recognition principles. CPA, CFA, or CMA certifications are advantageous but not required. Why Join Teradata? Salary Range: $84,000.00 - $126,000.00 Annually Your initial salary will be influenced by factors such as geographic location, internal equity, relevant skills, and experience. Sales roles may include commission based on performance, whereas all other positions are eligible for our annual incentive plans tied to company performance and individual achievements.
