The Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily activities of Quality Inspectors and NDT Inspectors at the RMS Houston facility. This position ensures that all inspection and testing activities are executed to RMS standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry codes. The Quality Supervisor provides direct oversight to inspection staff, supports the resolution of quality issues, and drives continuous improvement on the shop floor. The Quality Supervisor reports directly to the QHSE Manager and works closely with Operations, Engineering, and Project Management to ensure quality objectives are achieved. Exceptional safety and quality awareness Relevant Quality professional qualification RelevantHealth & Safety professional qualification PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise and coordinate the work of Quality Inspectors and NDT Inspectors, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all inspection activities. Oversee inspection of rotating equipment components (compressors, turbines, and related assemblies) for dimensional, metallurgical, and nondestructive testing compliance. Review and approve nonconformance reports, ensuring proper documentation, disposition, and timely closure. Coach and develop inspection staff through structured training and mentoring programs to elevate technical proficiency, strengthen ownership, and prepare them for higher levels of responsibility within the Quality organization. Support and verify root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions. Oversee inspection equipment calibration and NDT inspector certification records. Coordinate with Operations and Engineering to address quality issues affecting production and service. Support customer and third-party audits, providing inspection documentation and records as required. Monitor and report inspection performance, defect trends, and key metrics to the Quality Manager. Promote compliance with RMS's QMS (ISO 9001) and applicable codes (API, ASME, AWS). Ensure adherence to welding and fabrication quality requirements where applicable. This list is subject to change based on the needs of the company.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS 10+ years of experience in quality assurance/ inspection in a manufacturing or service environment Strong rotating equipment knowledge, including inspection, assembly, and repair of turbomachinery. 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience. Proficient with dimensional inspection tools and methods. Working knowledge of NDT methods (MT, PT, UT, RT preferred). Knowledge of welding processes, weld inspection, and applicable codes (ASME, AWS) appreciated. Familiarity with machining practices and processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CAD or inspection software a plus. REQUIRED EDUCATION High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field preferred ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The position may be based in RMS's Houston, TX facility. This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. Additional hours, including evenings or weekends, may be required based on project needs. This position can be required to participate in the company random or customer specific drug and alcohol screening and background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license Ability to pass pre-employment drug, alcohol test, and background check. Ability to act professionally under stressful situations. Able to understand, read, write and speak English. Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. (with assistance), walk, climb, reach, kneel, crawl, and balance. Must be able to use hands for assembling and tool usage While performing the duties of this position the employee will be required to stand, sit, bend, and walk for significant portions of the shift Must not have allergies or issues related to handling metals, including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel. Authorized to work in the United States RMS Inc. may have government contracts that impose specific requirements on employees working on those projects. If an employee does not meet these requirements, they may be reassigned to a different location or be ineligible to work on certain assignments. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. While the work area may be described as generally clean, safe, and "not loud", there will be machining operations that generate moderate noise and metal particles.
