POSITION: Per Diem RN- Pediatrics SCHEDULING AND COMMITMENT • Shift: 7p-7:30a • Scheduling & Commitment: Clinicians must be fully committed to working a minimum of (4) shifts per month and may pick up no more than (2) shifts per week. Must be dedicated to getting into the lab and completing compliance asap • Cancellation Policy: Three (3) last-minute shift cancellations, defined as cancellations within 24-48 hours of the scheduled shift, will lead to facility review and may result in a final warning SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS • Clinicians may work at only one RWJBH site and must be submitted exclusively to the site where they are fully committed to work; once submitted and approved, a site-specific requisition ID will be assigned, and location changes will not be permitted thereafter. • (2) clinical leadership references from assignments within the last year and at least one must be from a manager, director, supervisor, or lead. Charge nurse will not be accepted • Submission review turnaround time could take 1-2 weeks! SEPARATION RULES • Prior RWJBH staff must be separated for a minimum of one (1) year. YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED • 1.5 REQUIRED LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS • State / Compact License Requirements: Active NJ or Compact license is required at time of submission • Required Certifications: BLS, PALS, APHON Pediatric Chemotherapy Certification SUMMARY OF REQUIRED SKILLS • Pediatric Acute Care Settings: Pediatric MedSurg, Pediatric oncology, Endocrine/Metabolic • GI/Nutrition & Renal: Breastfeeding Support/Handling of Breast Milk, Feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), Insertion and management of indwelling urinary catheter, Renal failure • Oncology & Neurologic Care: Administration of chemotherapy, Seizure disorders • IV Therapy & Medication Management: Administration of blood & blood products, Care and management of ports, Central line blood draw, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, Starting and maintaining IVs, TPN/Lipids, Anti-Seizure Medications, Pediatric Dosage Calculations • Oxygen Delivery Systems, Fractures; Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Wound assessment/care UNIT DETAILS • Ratios: Days: 1:5 • Unit Details: Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents; Patient Diagnoses: General pediatrics, hematology/oncology, ortho, surgical • Charting: EPIC experience required • Scrub Color: Navy Blue • Floating: Yes - Candidates must float within their skillset without exception and will float to PICU and NICU for an appropriate assignment; ratios vary based on census, patient acuity and staffing. • Parking: Parking is free in any unrestricted space. Security is not stationed in the garage but is directly next to the entrance.
