Position Type: Support Staff/Food Service Date Posted: 3/10/2026 Location: Allard Elementary School Closing Date: 03/17/2026 ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCYPOSITION: TEMPORARY Elementary Lead, Class II Allard Elementary School Hours: 9:45 am to 1:30 pm (3.75 hours) (Temporary timeline: 4/22/2026 - 6/5/2026) REPORTS TO: Food Service Director and Elementary Lead JOB FUNCTION: To prepare, cook and serve a variety of foods so that students receive attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to execute each requirement satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed for the position. High School Diploma Two years of experience in school cafeteria or thorough knowledge of cooking and former management experience. Must have ServSafe Manager Certificate or pass exam before beginning position. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Products and other office equipment or software / Ability to excel on the District's Tech Test REQUIREMENTS: Proficient in operating the Point-of-Sale System or cash register experience. Thorough knowledge of arithmetic. Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards. Ability to show flexibility with daily work assignments. Ability to keep work organized and carry out duties effectively under pressure. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, with courtesy and respect. Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively with students, teachers and other school district employees. Ability to interact with others in the work environment, including the ability to adapt to new or different conditions. Must be able to multi-task. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions with limited supervision. Knowledge of cooking and temperatures. Ability to be dependable, including good habits in attendance and punctuality Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality when dealing with student, staff and other confidential information. Perform physical requirements which may include: Lifting up to 60 lbs Frequent standing Exposure to hot temperatures from ovens and cold temperatures from freezer RESPONSIBILITIES: Assume responsibility for opening and closing the kitchen each day ensuring all equipment is turned off and properly guarded. Supervise and assign dishwasher server(s) tasks. Retrieve, evaluate and monitor daily counts using google forms. Prepare and batch cook hot foods in a timely manner, assuring proper quality of food prepared. Ensure all components of lunch are ready and served on time. Complete daily production record. Operate Point-of-Sale system. Responsible for collection and reporting of fees normally attributed to the financial operation of the cafeteria. Store unused food and supplies to assure compliance with health and sanitation standards; dispose of unusable leftovers and record on production record. Conduct and send inventory using excel. Complete produce, food and supply order using excel. Place dairy order for milk and juice. Report reimbursable meal count. Puts away food and supply orders in their appropriate place. Operate a variety of standard kitchen equipment such as various ovens, steamer and dishwasher as required. Complies with local and national laws for food safety in preparing, serving, and storing food. Follows food preparation directions and HACCP regarding time and temperature. Ensures all work areas and serving areas left in a clean, sanitary and safe condition. Report equipment and chemical issues in a timely manner. Facilitate the execution of catered events as needed. Provides excellent customer service to students and staff of MASD Performs other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director as normally attributed to the position. TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 210 days; Hourly wage per contract EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provision of the School District's evaluation system of support service personnel.
