Summary of Position Mission The Manufacturing Team Leader plays an important role in the growth and development of manufacturing of Century Arms. The individual will be responsible for supporting manufacturing production through disassembly, preparation, and complete assembly of firearms and firearm components. The position requires an individual who will be hands on and will use their technical ability, critical thinking skills, and leverage industry techniques to assemble precision firearms. Duties & Responsibilities:Firearms Assembly & Technical Operations: Disassemble firearms using hand tools and sort components. Perform complete assembly of firearms, including installation of hand guards, rear sights, pistol grips, magazine catches, and butt stocks. Properly use company-provided tools and document/report any changes to established tool limits or torque settings. Properly head space all firearms, as required, assemble and install trigger group. Use precision measuring tools to check conformity of finished part or product. Perform inspection of own work using go and no-go gauge to ensure few or no mistakes are made in the assembly of the product. Inspect, evaluate, grade parts and firearms per company standards. Transport materials, supplies, and finished goods with care. Utilize the company ERP system to track product through production. Maintain sound knowledge and application of firearm safety protocols. Perform test fires on assembled firearms as needed. Conduct initial self-inspection to ensure accuracy and minimize defects. Production Performance & Documentation: Meet established daily production goals. Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time. Workstation Organization & Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized workstation and perform weekly 5S maintenance. Ensure that the work area is kept organized, neat and accessible to find all necessary parts. Adhere to all employment policies, safety policies, PPE requirements, and practices required by law or established by the Company. Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment as directed by the Company. Immediately report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor. Report all work related injuries immediately to department manager. Assembly Line Leadership & Oversight: Assemble, lead and oversee all assembly line operations. This role requires higher technical responsibility, precision to quality (head spacing, gauging, triggers) and likely higher pay/performance expectations. Oversees and supervises the day-to-day activities of the tech department and employees. Directs activities of employees in order to meet schedule demands. Assists employees as needed to meet schedule demands. Provides training and inspects work of subordinates. Conduct performance evaluations as requested. Department Coordination & Operational Support: Assists or directs the transfer of products to and from the manufacturing department and vendors as necessary. Staffing, Performance & Department Management: Assists in the hiring of new employees in collaboration with department manager and Human Resources. Communicates all personnel and disciplinary issues that may arise within the department to Department Manager. Improves upon and maintains acceptable production numbers in accordance with Company standards. Stays on task with assigned duties at all times. Ensures that everyone in the department area adheres to all employment policies, safety policies, and practices required by law or established by the Company. Professional Conduct & Workplace Collaboration: Demonstrate a positive attitude toward co-workers, other departments, and the Company. Maintain respect, courtesy and professionalism towards all co-workers and the Company. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement: Actively participate and support the 5S process by maintaining a clean workstation and department. Other duties assigned as required. Qualifications & Knowledge Required: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Two-year technical degree or equivalent work experience is required Prior firearm assembler experience (or successful completion of Assembler I role) Proven mechanical ability is required. Knowledge of and experience with hand tools Adhere to essential functions of position such as attendance and timeliness. Ability to accept and follow directions. General mechanical ability is highly desirable Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is highly desirable General computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite Ability to learn new skills as demanded by the position Follow all established environmental safety protocols required by OSHA, federal and state agencies and the Company Interact effectively with peers, staff and all levels of management Requires attention to detail as well as the ability to follow directions, organize and prioritize accordingly Working Conditions: Work is normally performed throughout a heated manufacturing and warehouse facility. Exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of light manufacturing, shipping and receiving, and normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.
