DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Network Specialist 1, you will serve as a driver and operational lead for mobile command posts (MCPs), ensuring total mission readiness through expert setup, tear-down, and technical maintenance. You will be responsible for supporting the communication and information technology (IT) needs of the command staff by operating and maintaining a wide range of hardware, including radio systems, desktops, laptops, and complex network infrastructures. Your role will involve the hands-on installation, configuration, and monitoring of MCP software and hardware to guarantee peak performance, resolve system issues, and ensure constant availability in the field. Additionally, you will act as the central point of contact for all shipments received at the facility, notifying appropriate personnel of deliveries while logging and tracking all incoming inventory. You may also be called upon to assist in the development of inventory and tracking systems to streamline equipment management. Part of your logistical duties includes organizing surplus and expired equipment to maintain an efficient workspace. By managing these assets alongside the implementation of Microsoft security patches and the upkeep of routers, switches, and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) devices, you will ensure the Pennsylvania State Police maintain a secure and high-performance communications hub. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. At times, this position will require shift adjustments, extended hours, and overnight travel to ensure critical operational needs and priorities are effectively met. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes).
