We're currently searching for a Registered Dietitian / Nutritionist to join our Schiffert Health Center team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE: 1) You'll be joining the Schiffert Health Center team; a department centered on the health and wellbeing of the Virginia Tech student population. 2) You'll have a dual reporting structure to the Director of Schiffert Health Center and Senior Director of Hokie Wellness, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment. 3) You'll be responsible for providing individualized nutrition guidance for students with a wide range of health and dietary needs, including, but not limited to, adjusting eating patterns, navigating concerns related to disordered eating, supporting balanced weight practices, optimizing nutrition for athletic performance, promoting mindful and intuitive eating approaches, and managing food allergies or intolerances. 4) You'll serve as Case Manager for Healthy Eating Assessment and Referral Team (HEART) 5) You'll advance healthy living and well-being across campus by designing, coordinating, and delivering nutrition and body image initiatives in partnership with key campus collaborators. 6) You'll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division. 7) You'll be offered a base compensation package between $60,000 - $65,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more! Required Qualifications • Bachelor's or higher degree in the field of dietetics, nutrition, or nutrition education. • Must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with active registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. • Some experience in related clinical nutrition/dietetics. • Familiarity working with individuals aged from adolescent to adult, with developmental and nutritional education and support needs, as well as health conditions that require nutritional assessment and therapy. • Experience in nutrition counseling for mental health, stress, and athletic performance. • Professional demeanor, excellent clinical and interpersonal skills for individual and group interactions, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the personal maturity to deal effectively with ill and/or troubled students. • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of personal health information is essential. • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team (Counseling, Hokie Wellness and Rec Sports). Preferred Qualifications • Previous experience working in a higher education setting. • Demonstrated experience working with and managing disordered eating clients. • Previous case management experience.
