We are looking for a talented Environmental Engineering Compliance Consultant to support and deliver projects related to Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans; Facility Response Plans (FRP); as well as Clean Water Act (CWA), Stormwater (SW), and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Regulatory Reviews and Permits through engineering, design, and effective project management. The role is based in Virginia Beach, Richmond, or Hampton, Virginia, and operates in a hybrid work environment, which may include remote work. Candidates should be ready for up to 50% travel within the U.S. and internationally. Utilize your engineering knowledge and creativity to address ongoing stormwater, tank, and wastewater compliance challenges. Collaborate with our expert practitioners to deliver sustainable solutions for clients. You will lead design and engineering tasks, delegate effectively, and work alongside engineers and design experts of various experience levels. Mentor junior team members while learning from seasoned professionals to foster your professional growth. Join us to help craft solutions that address environmental challenges and drive significant global change. A bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related field. More than five years of experience with SPCC Plans; Facility Response Plans; Clean Water Act; Stormwater; and NPDES Permitting. Experience supporting field efforts. Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams and guiding them through best practices. Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Virginia OR the ability to obtain licensure within one year of employment. Certification as an Above Ground Storage Tank SP001 Inspector by the Steel Tank Institute OR the ability to gain this registration within six months of employment. Strong writing skills for creating regulatory compliance plans, stormwater inspection reports, and proposals. Effective communication skills, including demonstrated presentation abilities. Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Access, etc.). Team-oriented with excellent coordination skills for working with multiple stakeholders. Strong planning and organizational skills with a track record of meeting project deadlines. Excellent attention to detail in handling complex engineered components. Strong problem-solving abilities with a client-focused approach. This role requires US Citizenship and a US passport (or the ability to obtain one within three months of employment). Ideally, you'll also have: A master's degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related field. The ability to function as a technical project lead, breaking down complex problems into actionable tasks, managing workflows, and bridging communication gaps between technical and non-technical team members.
