As the Director of Talent and Development, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our Field Sales and Commercial teams through effective leadership programs and talent management strategies. This position is a unique opportunity for seasoned professionals with a background in Field Sales and Sales Leadership. We are looking for someone who is passionate about fostering leadership capabilities and driving innovative talent initiatives across our organization. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with Commercial Field Sales, Learning & Development, and HR Business Partners to integrate field sales-specific tools and processes into leadership programs. Conduct comprehensive needs assessments using data to identify leadership capability gaps and propose targeted solutions. Design and oversee the SMPA University leadership development curriculum for Commercial teams and emerging leaders, internally facilitating approximately 50% of programming. Enhance functional programs that complement core leadership offerings, including onboarding and accelerated development initiatives. Facilitate meetings and interventions to enhance team effectiveness and collaboration with senior leadership. Collaborate on initiatives to strengthen organizational culture, engagement, and change readiness. Support various planning initiatives including talent, workforce, and succession planning in partnership with HR colleagues. Design accelerated development programs for high-potential talent to ensure growth and retention. Manage vendor relationships and associated budgets to deliver high-quality training experiences. Keep abreast of best practices in leadership development and organizational effectiveness. Core Competencies: Thorough understanding of adult learning principles, coaching methods, and assessment tools. Expertise in situational leadership and leadership development frameworks. Able to effectively influence and partner with senior leaders. Strong instructional design skills, with experience in needs analysis and program evaluation. Highly skilled in facilitating learning experiences in both in-person and virtual environments. Exceptional stakeholder management and project management capabilities. Experience in vendor and budget management. Enthusiasm for AI and digital transformation initiatives. Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. High emotional intelligence and self-awareness. Preferred certifications in leadership training models or adult learning methodologies. Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree or relevant L&D certifications preferred. Required experience includes a minimum of 10 years, with at least 5 years in field sales leadership and 5 years in designing and delivering leadership programs for commercial or sales teams. Demonstrated success in leading diverse leadership development initiatives. Willingness to travel 25-30% of the time. The base salary range for this position is $184,000 to $230,000, accompanied by comprehensive benefits including merit-based increases, 401(k) plan eligibility, and flexible paid time off. Total compensation will be tailored to each candidate's unique qualifications and experience.
