Maintenance Technician

Polyglass USA, Inc., a premier roofing materials manufacturer, has an opening for an Industrial Maintenance Technician for our Fernley, NV facility.Pay rates between $30.00 and 42.00 per hour. (Rate of Pay will be based on the level of Technician which will be determined during the course of interview). Shift / Hours: 8:00 - 4:30, Mon - Fri Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible to be a part of the maintenance mechanical team to perform a wide variety of mechanical and electrical tasks to include preventative maintenance, equipment installation, to support the maintenance department, ad hoc repairs of equipment breakdowns, handle general facility maintenance, as well as miscellaneous duties as assigned. This position reports to the Plant Engineer. Your Responsibilities:Contribute to the completion of mechanical and electrical projectsGeneral office and manufacturing maintenanceLubrication/oil changing of heavy production machineryTroubleshooting electrical systems including PLC'sRepair/replace bearings, gear heads, belts, chains, conveyors, filters, etc.Modify existing structural components to comply with safety regulations, cost saving measures as requiredPerform all duties while maintaining high quality with every day thoughts for Environment, Health and safety Fabrication of parts for repair of existing equipment and installation of new equipmentAssist with management of spare parts inventoryBasic Vehicle Maintenance (forklifts, pickup truck, refuse truck)Other tasks as assigned by managerThe Background You Bring to our Team:Three or more years of experience industrial mechanical / electrical experience in a production environmentMust possess good mechanical aptitude and be able to analyze and troubleshoot problemsKnowledge of pneumatic cylinders and controls as well as hydraulic systems and components (pumps, cylinders, valves, etc)Ability to operate lathe, milling machine, drill press, mig welder, tig welder, plasma cutter to fabricate and repair equipmentPrior forklift certification and ability to use hand toolsFamiliarity with environmental, health and safety regulationsExtrusion and sheet line experience a plusElectrical experience, including PLC troubleshooting, a strong plus Capable of working without direct supervisionValid driver's license in good standing; CDL Class B a plusHigh School Diploma or GEDWhy Polyglass?
