Job Description As an Air Traffic Control Equipment Technician, you play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of flight operations by maintaining and installing essential air traffic control equipment. Your expertise supports air traffic controllers in managing the skies effectively. As part of a skilled electronic maintenance team, you will handle the upkeep and installation of various communications, navigation aids, and landing systems vital for aviation safety. Your work is indispensable for the safe takeoff and landing of aircraft. Key Responsibilities Test instruments, navigational controls, and simulators using specialized electronic and electrical test equipment. Replace essential equipment parts, including resistors, switches, and circuit boards to ensure functionality. Conduct quality control measures to maintain high operational standards. Install and fine-tune air traffic control communications and navigation aid systems. Your training as an Air Traffic Control Equipment Technician includes 10 weeks of Basic Training, focusing on fundamental skills, followed by 38 weeks of Advanced Individual Training and hands-on instruction, which emphasizes practical experience in repairing and replacing equipment parts.
