Job Title: Payroll SpecialistJob DescriptionThe Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll for a workforce of approximately 150 employees. This role involves close collaboration with Human Resources and Finance to ensure payroll compliance, support employee inquiries, and assist with light HR administrative duties. The ideal candidate possesses hands-on ADP experience, strong attention to detail, and a customer-service mindset.Responsibilities Process biweekly payroll for approximately 150 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable laws. Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, deductions, and garnishments. Administer payroll through ADP, including audits, reports, and payroll adjustments. Respond to employee questions related to pay, deductions, taxes, and timekeeping. Reconcile payroll reports and assist with payroll-related reporting and documentation. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Partner with HR on employee data changes and payroll-related processes. Support light HR duties such as onboarding paperwork, employee records maintenance, and basic HR administrative tasks. Assist with year-end processes including W-2s and audits as needed. Essential Skills 2+ years of payroll processing experience preferred. Hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems required. Experience processing payroll for 100+ employees strongly preferred. Basic understanding of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance requirements. Comfortable supporting light HR administrative functions. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and HR/payroll systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a single-site payroll environment. Healthcare, manufacturing, or regulated industry experience a plus. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage deadlines. Experience with payroll tax and accounting. Work EnvironmentThe role involves working closely with the HR team, with potential for the contract to be extended. There is a possibility that payroll may become part of the finance team, which could result in a longer tenure. The role includes working hours from 7-4 or 8-5. The position will report to a manager based in Marquette, Michigan, with support available from payroll professionals in Florida. Onsite training will be provided.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Kenosha, WI.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
