Profile Essential Functions/Process Responsibilities include the following: other duties may be assigned as necessary: Operate transit buses safely on prescribed routes as directed. Conduct pre and post-trip vehicle inspections and document on appropriate forms. Collects/records bus fares and transfers by GoRaleigh Transit procedures. Promote exemplary customer service of GoRaleigh by providing safe, courteous, and dependable service while transporting customers. Input information into computer-based equipment such as Automated Vehicle Locator (AVL), Automatic Passenger Counter (APC), fare-box, and destination displays (requires touch key entering) as technology exists. Able to read and interpret maps and complex schedules and provide route and schedule information to transit customers. Assist in the boarding of disabled customers who require the aid of accessible vehicles (wheelchairs/scooters) for mobility. Involves bending, stooping, and twisting while securing belts and straps to ensure the patron and car are tied down in a manner that provides a safe ride (Ability to push-pull wheelchair patrons). Operate a two-way bus radio system by the GoRaleigh established policies and procedures and the Federal Communication Commission (FCC). Announce major streets, stops, and destinations per ADA regulations. Adhere to the uniform application of the Labor Agreement, Performance Code, Safety Procedures, and Operational Bulletins. Requires prolonged sitting while driving/operating transit bus. Includes reaching above head to adjust mirrors and destination signs during pre-trip inspections. Skills CDL
