Client: Financial services Team: TBA Job Title: Systems Operations Engineer 4 Location: Charlotte, Dallas, Phoenix, Minneapolis, or Des Moines (Hybrid - 3 days onsite) Contract Length: 12 Months (Possible Conversion to FTE) Pay Rate: $61 - $65/hr (OT40) Top Requirements: 5+ years of Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture experience 4+ years using observability platforms (BigPanda, ThousandEyes, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Splunk Observability, AppDynamics) 4+ years of experience in ITSM (incident, problem, change management) 3+ years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Kubernetes, and strong proficiency with Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) 3+ years supporting productiongrade SRE environments 3+ years working with cloud-native architectures, HA systems, GCP or Azure, and Kubernetes Expertise with Ansible Tower automation and scripting (developing & maintaining playbooks) Plusses: Strong Agile/Scrum background Project management and stakeholder engagement experience Proven experience leading crossfunctional teams Excellent communication, collaboration, problemsolving, and decisionmaking abilities Job Summary: The Systems Operations Engineer 4 will serve as a senior technical contributor supporting complex, largescale Systems Operations Engineering initiatives. This role involves evaluating multifaceted system challenges, developing strategic solutions, and partnering across engineering and leadership teams to ensure highreliability operations. The engineer will leverage observability tools, SRE best practices, automation, cloudnative technologies, and ITSM processes to optimize system performance and contribute to enterprisewide operational strategies. This position also requires oncall support and the ability to work a hybrid schedule. DaytoDay Responsibilities: • Review and analyze complex Systems Operations Engineering challenges across longterm and largescale initiatives • Leverage observability tools (BigPanda, ThousandEyes, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Splunk, AppDynamics) to monitor and enhance service reliability • Support incident, problem, and change management processes through ITSM frameworks • Work with RHEL, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift in production environments • Apply SRE principles to maintain and improve productiongrade systems • Support cloudnative architectures, highavailability environments, and containerized workloads • Build and maintain automation solutions using Ansible Tower (playbooks, workflows) • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and leadership on complex operational solutions • Lead crossfunctional initiatives and provide strategic technical guidance • Participate in oncall rotation and support adhoc operational needs • Deliver work within Agile/Scrum environments and support continuous improvement • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and operational standards EEO Employer Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
