Job Summary: Tryfacta is seeking a Financial Analyst for our client in Albany,12203. This is a temporary contract assignment. Position Title: Financial Analyst Location: Albany, NY,12203 Where the work will be performed: NYC / Remote Location of Resource: Northeast region Duration: 2 years with option to extend Is travel required for this position: 1 x per quarter for team meetings or projects. Bill Rate: $40.00 - $50.00 Pay rate: $31.74 - $39.68 Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Fund Administration and Accounting Work closely with NYGB's fund administration team to monitor, analyze, and ensure proper accounting of NYGB portfolio and corporate activity. Monitor cash movements in fund accounts (e.g., perform reconciliations and investigations) to identify and resolve breaks. Ensure proper internal control measures are met, related to wires, invoices and internal and external audit requests. Assist senior team members with the interpretation of transaction terms and associated preparation of invoices and notices to counterparties. Review monthly Net Asset Value determinations and related records by comparing and correcting data for portfolio transactions to ensure calculation accuracy and proper reporting. Analyze requests to modify transactions for impact to fund accounting, investment administration and financial planning and analysis as noted above. Monitor portfolio activity (e.g., notices) to ensure complete and organized records for all investments. Support the preparation of audited and unaudited financial statements and related metrics reports. Perform other responsibilities as assigned. Financial Planning and Analysis Work with large financial data sets to perform regular analyses including those related to treasury-management, capital management. Analyses include weekly/quarterly liquidity, monthly cash flow, monthly management reports, and capital status updates. Perform financial analysis by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends in a timely manner Assist with and perform analysis for annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting. Contract Management and Procurement Collaborate with NYGB colleagues and NYSERDA Contract Management team to execute procurement contracts and solicitations. Route vendor agreements, invoices, and other documenta on to the appropriate par es for approval. Monitor expense accruals and review for accuracy. Operational Strategy Development and Implementation Assume day-to-day management in the assessment and identification of needed initiatives within NYGB operations with an eye toward optimization and improvements. Devise, implement and maintain systems, protocols and/or practices (e.g., process guides, onboarding, CRM, optimization, etc.). Communicate with and incorporate feedback from stakeholders including NYSERDA Management, NYGB Management and NYGB staff. Assist in the scoping, scheduling and execution of internal meetings and briefing sessions on key operational issues, practices and procedures, including current organizational and industry issues and best practices. Education, Certifications, Degree requirements Required: Bachelor's degree. Preferred: Bachelor's degree and one year previous experience with investment operations and/or financial accounting, management accounting, bookkeeping, project, structured or leveraged finance and investments or similar. General Guidance for Expected Years of Experience 3+ Years Technical & Professional Skills & Knowledge Understanding of finance and financial concepts, highly skilled in Excel and other systems. A degree in public policy, finance, math, computer science or other strong academic area of study with strong technical skills. Creativity in Project & Program Development Not fully applicable, however, the ideal candidate needs to have the ability to understand issues at the source level, and creatively find the most effective solution. Ability to quickly identify and drive the best possible solution when presented with a series of opportunities and constraints.
