Job Title: General Production Worker - PACK Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated General Production Worker to join our team in a food production environment. This role involves packing items for shipment, ensuring quality control, and adhering to food-related GMP and SOP guidelines.Responsibilities Follow all food-related GMP and SOP guidelines accurately. Pack items on production lines for shipment, ensuring no damage or breakage. Mix ingredients using correct methods such as coulter and apg. Check weights and accurately record all lot and bag numbers used. Practice sanitation measures for equipment due to food packaging requirements. Maintain a clean work area consistently. Lift weights of 50-55 lbs regularly at waist height or shift weight side-to-side. Work in confined spaces such as spiral staircases due to the building's design. Operate at heights on catwalks above machines. Essential Skills Ability to lift 50-55 lbs consistently. Willingness to train on forklift usage. Previous experience in machine operation within manufacturing. Ability to read and follow recipes and batch mixing instructions. Mechanical inclination for basic machine maintenance tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of GMP is a significant advantage. Legible reading and writing skills are required. Proficiency in math, including decimals and fractions. It is a GMP-required food-grade environment where dry powder items like Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa mix are produced. The work areas can be hot, though the mixing area is air-conditioned. The role involves working 12-hour shifts from 7pm to 7am, Monday to Wednesday, with potential overtime on Thursday. The building requires a lot of walking and stair climbing, and strict GMP requirements must be followed, including wearing uniforms and steel-toed boots. No jewelry or accessories that may fall into mixes are permitted.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Defiance, OH.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.50/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
