WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS ROLE As a Category Specialist, you'll be part of our enduring legacy and exciting growth. Here's what you can expect: The Category Specialist is responsible for driving results within assigned categories in alignment with the overarching supply chain strategic direction. This position requires negotiation tactics, analytical problem-solving skills, maintaining vendor relationships, and the ability to implement new ways of working and lead change. Will also be responsible for being the liaison between vendors and operations while collaborating with multiple departments to support and alleviate operations gaps. The ideal candidate possesses strong problem solving and communication skills that include natural curiosity and out-of-the-box thinking and who likes to collaborate with a vibrant, fast-paced team. In addition to aligning to our values, you'll be successful here with these skills and qualifications: Bachelor's, Associates, or Culinary Degree with a focus on supply chain, hospitality, business, or equivalent work experience. Three years of procurement, foodservice, or food manufacturing experience preferred. Strong communication skills for discussions and negotiations with both internal shareholders and external vendor partners. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks, meet stated deadlines, and work independently. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong computer and software skills with the ability to learn new systems and programs.
