Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is in partnership with a prominent client in Elgin within the manufacturing industry. We are looking for a friendly, passionate person to join a great team as a Quality Assurance Technician. QA - Pay and Shift: QA - 1st Shift $17.00/hour 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Position Summary The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all products meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and company quality expectations. This role supports and maintains quality control systems through inspection, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement activities. The Quality Assurance Technician plays a key role in upholding GMP and HACCP standards by performing inspections, collecting and analyzing data, and identifying trends that impact product quality and food safety. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to maintaining high standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct routine and non-routine testing of raw materials, in-process products, finished goods, environmental samples, and stability samples. Interpret test results, compare findings against specifications and control limits, and determine data suitability for release. Perform visual inspections of finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards. Compile laboratory data and perform appropriate analyses and trend evaluations. Complete all documentation related to testing procedures, including data forms, equipment logs, and inventory records. Calibrate, validate, and maintain laboratory equipment. Participate in out-of-specific and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions. Provide quality control data required for internal reporting and regulatory submissions. Receive and inspect materials to verify compliance with specifications. Identify, investigate, and report questionable or abnormal test results. Support GMP and HACCP audits and quality improvement initiatives. Other Duties This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may perform other duties as assigned. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to interpret data and follow established testing procedures. Basic understanding of quality control principles in a manufacturing environment. Basic/Moderate Microsoft skills. Ability to document results accurately and consistently. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in food manufacturing or quality assurance. Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards. Experience working in a laboratory or production quality environment. Familiarity with data collection, reporting, and trend analysis. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout production and laboratory areas for extended periods. Ability to lift to 30 lbs. as needed. Ability to perform visual inspections and handle small instruments or samples. Working Conditions A combination of laboratories, production floor, and warehouse environments. Regular exposure to food manufacturing conditions, including temperature variations. Use of PPE and adherence to food safety and quality standards are required.
