Job Description

Purpose This position will be responsible for supporting and creating a safe working environment at the Distribution Center, including enforcement of regulations and safety expectations of Floor & Decor. The Supervisor will coach employees on the importance of quality work performance, accuracy, efficiency and execution of Company programs/standards. Minimum Eligibility Requirements Bachelor's degree (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education) Three years of relevant experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company Proven problem-solving and team building skills Excellent organizational skills Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite Working knowledge of WMS system Has exempt level experience involving various Logistics, Distribution and Warehouse Experience managing 10-20 Employees Working knowledge of Manhattan Logistics Distribution Systems Must be detail oriented and organized Must have strong strategic skills and work well under pressure Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment Lift, push, pull and/or carry tools, objects or equipment above shoulder level without assistance Essential Job Functions Keep appropriate records and reports to maintain inventory accuracy Assist in physical inventories/cycle counts Document attendance and participate in reviews for employees Coach, train and mentor Distribution Center employees in the areas of Safety and Loss Prevention Manage and resolve conflict, process employee requests, engage employees proactively and lead team building activities Manage/oversee the claims management process for the Facility Conduct directed Safety audits and report findings to appropriate leadership Promote, monitor, and enforce safe work practices and a safe work environment by monitoring and testing alarm systems, fire systems, and fire suppression equipment for proper operation Conduct security inspections on building, grounds, yard, and trailers Monitor inbound and outbound trailers entering and exiting the yard via computer applications Document accidents at the facility and ensure reports are accurate and complete Conduct research and report unusual activity to appropriate management (i.e., Proper Lifting, Proper Use of PPE/Fall Protection) Monitor and maintain awareness as it relates to environmental related exceptions (i.e., Hazmat, storm water, waste) Observe, audit, comply with all OSHA, CTPAT/FTZ, Fire and Preventive Safety requirements Update status of daily tasks, manage reports, employee assessments, issues or concerns, equipment status and process adjustments Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods Ensure all Lift Equipment Operators have been trained and certified to Company Standards Working Conditions (travel, environment) While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically noisy. Physical/Sensory Requirements Medium Work - Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
