Pressroom Feeder Job Purpose: The Feeder at JOHNS BYRNE CO is responsible for assisting with setting up materials for printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials. This role requires a strong attention to detail and organization to ensure efficient production processes and meet client specifications. Reviews job ticket & discuss job specifications with Press Operator to ensure complete understanding. Verifies accuracy of raw material. Prepares and load stock. Monitor all material being used on the press [ink, waters, coating, etc.]. Alerts press operator of any quality issues or potential problems of any kind during a run. Re-stocks & prepares materials for next shift. Relay complete accurate information to next shift on jobs scheduled & in progress. Assists Press operator in washing press. Follows all specified procedures & complete all required documentation. Performs & document all scheduled maintenance. Ensure press is well maintained on a daily basis, & press is neat and clean. Cleans empty ink cans and maintain the cleanliness of the chemical room. Must fill out project information sheet for each job Responsible for the quality of stock going into the press Required to perform other duties as requested, directed and assigned Qualifications Required Education: Minimum of High School Education or equivalent Required Skills and Abilities: Must possess thorough knowledge of all kinds of stock, & what to look for on printed sheet Must possess skills in troubleshooting & setting up a feed board Must possess good organization skills & attention to detail Must be able to work well with others, as well as work independently Required to read and write, follow verbal instructions and use simple math Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand and walk around the facility. Regularly required to use force to lift, push and pull up to 70 pounds. Work Environment: Work performed in a shop environment where a noise level is moderate. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts Regularly exposed to dust, odors, and moderate noise Occasionally exposed to hot and cold temperature
