Staff Assistant For The Purchasing Department We are seeking a staff assistant for the purchasing department. Under the supervision of the director of purchasing, this position will perform a wide range of administrative and record-keeping tasks related to the procurement of goods and services. Example of duties: Act as a liaison between the director of purchasing and other college departments. Perform troubleshooting, research, and resolve both internal and external inquiries. Maintain and act as administrator for various online procurement platforms. Perform data analysis, data processing as well as other clerical and routine duties. Prepare journal entries and external correspondence. Maintains records and filed, to include electronic databases. Assist in ensuring that purchases are in compliance with applicable statues, regulations and policies. Develop and maintains effective business relationships with internal clients. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Associate's or higher degree preferred. One to two (1-2) years of related experience preferred. Excellent math and communication skills. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and ERP systems. Able to work well with staff and students in a cooperative and professional manner. The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate. Compensation: compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The hourly pay range for this position is $20-$22. Benefits: New Jersey Sick Leave: earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked with a maximum of 40 hours of leave per benefit year. (Eligible to use after successful completion of probationary period.)
