Long Meadow Ranch is a family-owned agricultural enterprise producing grapes and wine, olives and olive oil, grass-fed beef and lamb, fruits, vegetables, and eggs in the Napa Valley, Anderson Valley and Marin County. The Long Meadow Ranch operations also include an acclaimed farm-to-table restaurant, a wine bar & tasting in the historic Logan-Ives House, an outdoor cafe, a farmer's market, working garden and a variety of unique event spaces all located at Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch. Long Meadow Ranch has an exciting opportunity for a Service & Beverage Director to drive exceptional service standards and oversee the execution of Farmstead’s beverage program. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role acts as the on-site steward of hospitality, service culture, and beverage excellence. The Service & Beverage Director will provide staff training and coaching to elevate operational performance at Farmstead. This position requires a strong floor presence, thoughtful leadership, and close collaboration with the culinary team, the events department, and Long Meadow Ranch Winery. Responsibilities Service Leadership & Guest Experience Lead front-of-house service with a consistent, visible presence on the floor Execute service standards as defined by the Director of Operations Ensure seamless guest experience from arrival through departure Serve as the primary point of escalation for guest issues and service recovery Lead pre-shift meetings focused on service priorities, pacing, and beverage highlights Beverage Program Leadership Oversee daily execution of the beverage program across the dining room, wine bar, cafe and events  Partner with the Director of Operations on beverage strategy, menu updates, and seasonal initiatives Ensure all beverage service standards are upheld (presentation, timing, glassware, temperature, accuracy) Lead beverage education and ongoing training for service staff Handle beverage ordering, manage monthly inventory, and cost management processes Oversee the retail inventory including selection, ordering and branding of new retail products Collaborate with the finance team to process end of month accounting procedures in a timely manner, following company procedures Team Leadership & Development Train and develop FOH team members with an emphasis on hospitality and professionalism Coach managers, captains, servers, and bartenders on service and beverage execution Reinforce a culture of accountability, consistency, and warmth Provide performance feedback and support growth of FOH leadership talent Operational Partnership Work closely with the Director of Operations to implement service systems, policies, and standards Support scheduling and labor decisions in alignment with operational goals Assist in executing events, special services, and high-profile reservations Ensure that all food safety, food quality standards, workplace safety standards, customer service standards and company policies are met. Comply with all Department of Environmental Health food safety regulations Effectively communicate with peers and supervisors using company platforms Be responsible for cash handling, banking and accounting procedures including end of day reconciliation and gratuity distribution systems  Education, Experience and Required Skills Minimum 3-5 years experience in a leadership role in a high volume, fine dining restaurant with 2+ years overseeing a full service wine and beverage program Expert level knowledge of classic cocktails, global wine regions, craft beer trends and non-alcoholic mixology Demonstrated experience in designing profitable beverage menus, including seasonal cocktail programs and curated wine lists Proficiency in beverage cost-control systems, including perpetual inventory audits and COGS analysis Experience with restaurant software including Homebase, Toast, Sevenrooms, and MarginEdge are a plus Proficiency with Google suite and MS Office products Experience in hospitality and event management in the lifestyle, restaurant, resort, hotel, travel or winery industry Excellent sales and customer service skills Strong supervisory and leadership skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Must lead and work consistent with LMR’s core values: Balance, Respect and Stewardship Proven commitment to creating a great first impression with the ability to consistently provide excellent guest experiences Strong organizational and communication skills to manage staff, interact with management and respond to guests’ needs Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be able to work independently as well as with the team Must be available for to work weekends and holidays A valid CA driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record A pre-employment background check is required Physical Demands and Work Environment  Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with unexpected situations Must be able to lift, balance, and carry plates of food Must be able to lift cases of wine on a daily basis Must be able to use both hands to handle, grasp, move and control objects, tools and equipment operations Must be able to bend or twist body Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl Compensation and Benefits This is a full-time, salaried position. The Company reasonably expects to pay in the range of $80k to $90k for this position. Of course, this is depending on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, and business or organizational needs.
