UT Southwestern is seeking an advanced practice provider (nurse practitioner or physician assistant) to join a robust pediatric stem cell team at Children's Health in Dallas, Texas. This position is primarily responsible for caring for pediatric patients with hematologic, oncologic, immunologic, or other diagnosis requiring stem cell transplant. The nurse practitioner or physician assistant is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, consultation, and health promotion and care coordination for patients and families throughout the hospital system. This position requires a high degree of critical thinking and flexibility. This is an opportunity to be part of a world-class pediatric group working with patients from across the country. Position Details: Full-time inpatient position Great full benefits including health, vision, dental, retirement, and more $2,500 annual CME and 40 hours Relocation assistance is available Sign-on bonus is available Loan forgiveness options (PSLF) Large case variety including bone marrow transplant, BMT, cellular therapeutic, kymriah immuno therapy, and gene therapy Job Responsibilities: Diagnose and treat critically ill patients, develop and manage treatment plans, and perform advanced procedures Conduct and document comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis, including psychological status Synthesize data and utilize evidence to develop, implement, and evaluate the patient plan of care, including ordering and interpreting laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies or results Demonstrate proficiency in technical and procedural skills, as appropriate, based on specialty and training Provide relevant management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients, families and caregivers related to current care and preventive health measures Facilitate and participate in quality related initiatives through planned group processes, workshops, seminars, and staff meetings to improve clinical and system practice performance Collaborate in research projects and protocols, and routinely apply evidence-based best practices to patient care Qualifications & Requirements: Must be a CPNP-AC or PA-C NP: Texas RN license, recognition as Acute Care PNP in Texas, certification as Acute Care Pediatric nurse practitioner through Pediatric Nursing, certification board (PNCB) with prescriptive authority (DPS/DEA required) PA: PA licensure through Texas Medical Board and certification through National Commission in Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) with prescriptive authority (DPS/DEA required) Must be BLS and PALS certified by the American Heart Association or Red Cross Pediatric stem cell experience preferred or Hematology/Oncology with stem cell familiarity Where You'll Work Children's Health is recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the top pediatric hospital in Dallas - Fort Worth.
