Bon Secours Cardiology in coastal Hampton Roads, VA has a new opportunity for a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant!OPPORTUNITY: We are seeking a highly motivated Nurse Practitioner (C-NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing cardiology practice providing both inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular care. The Advanced Practice Provider will work collaboratively with cardiologists and the multidisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based cardiovascular care.This position offers the opportunity to participate in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, supporting continuity of care between the hospital and clinic settings. The incoming APP will support an established cardiology patient population and assist with growing clinical demand within the practice.Expected outpatient volume averages approximately 14 patients per day, with inpatient census varying depending on hospital coverage.This role offers an opportunity to contribute to:Expansion of outpatient cardiovascular servicesImproved patient access to specialty cardiology careEnhanced inpatient cardiology coverageWORK ENVIRONMENT:Combination of hospital-based and outpatient clinic careCollaborative team of cardiologists and advanced practice providersOpportunities for professional development and subspecialty exposure8:00am - 4:30pm-hours may vary in the hospital settingWeekend call once a month - 8:00am - 12:00pm 4 hours, depending on patient censusHospital coverage will be rounding with other APC's and providers, taking new consults, managing inpatient census, call from EREPIC EMRQUALIFICATIONS:Graduate of an accredited Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant programBoard certification as NP or PAActive Virginia license (or eligible for licensure)BLS and ACLS certification1 TO 3 YEARS of Prior cardiology practice experience required - this is not an entry-level position.Strong clinical, communication, and team collaboration skillsWe ask our providers to be pleasant, and work along with staff, and manager to create a team based working environment to ensure good patient experience.CLINICAL FOCUS AREAS: The APP will assist in the management of patients with conditions including but not limited to:Supervising and managing the Coumadin/anticoagulation clinicManaging prescription refills and medication adjustmentsTriage and management of patient phone calls and clinical questionsMonitoring blood pressure management and cardiovascular risk factorsSupervising and assisting with cardiac stress testingCaring for patient population with:Coronary artery diseaseAcute coronary syndromesHeart failureCardiac arrhythmiasHypertensionHyperlipidemiaPreventive cardiology and risk factor managementRESPONSIBILITIES:Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including history and physical examinationsEvaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditionsParticipate in inpatient cardiology consults and roundingProvide outpatient follow-up care and cardiovascular disease managementMonitor diagnostic testing including:cardiac imagingstress testinglaboratory dataDevelop and implement evidence-based treatment plansCollaborate closely with cardiologists, hospitalists, nursing staff, and other specialistsEducate patients and families on cardiovascular disease prevention and managementDocument encounters in the electronic medical record in a timely mannerParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical program developmentPlease Click to Apply - Send your current, updated Resume showing Education and Training rotations, Certifications, Employment History and Licensing information to our local, in-house Physician Recruiter at .
