Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/06/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Apr 6, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 2 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position at a Magnet-designated academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and prior travel nursing experience. Details Cardiothoracic ICU (CVICU) setting within a 637-bed Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital 1:1 patient ratios Manages complex cardiothoracic ICU cases including ventilator-dependent patients and PA line monitoring Procedures include ventilator management, IV starts, and PA line management Charting via Epic (preferred, not required) Available shifts: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) and Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), 3x12-hour shifts per week Weekend shifts required unless otherwise noted on the posted schedule Floating within the hospital to other ICU units is required; floating to sister hospitals is not required Block scheduling is not available unless otherwise noted on the posting Requirements Active WA RN license or compact RN license; pending WA license accepted Current certifications: BLS and ACLS Minimum 2 years of cardiothoracic or cardiovascular ICU experience At least 2 prior travel assignments beyond initial hospital employment required; first-time travelers are not eligible Proficiency with ventilator management, IV starts, and PA lines COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred Additional Information Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restriction applies Prior UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being eligible to return as a traveler RTO may not be requested during orientation week and should otherwise be kept to a minimum; up to 7 days of RTO may be taken in November/December, with the requirement to work 2 of 3 major holidays Scrubs in any color are acceptable; scrubs are provided for OR personnel Parking is available at a cost of $10.26 per day American Traveler Job ID P-683523.
