Carpenter Journeyman

Description Carpenter is experienced with leading and self-performing rough framing and custom millwork finishes on commercial properties. Ideal candidate must be self-driven, have good communication skills, able to take direction, and work in groups. Duties and Responsibilities Pick-up rough framing. Framer currently onsite. Main duty would be adjusting current framing due to plan changes and check currently installed framing to be installed per plans and within typical framing standards. Finish Carpentry to include installation of Base, Jambs, Doors, Cabinetry, etc. as lead finish carpenter. General clean-up and labor such as sweeping, lifting/relocating materials. Other duties as assigned. RequirementsEducation and Experience High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 5yrs work experience in finish carpentry. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of methods, equipment, materials and tools used for millwork. Ability to read and work from Blueprints a required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently inspects the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions, while wearing personal protective equipment. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the position is very active and the employee is frequently standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, digging, trenching and climbing throughout day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Operating heavy equipment and hand tools. Travel Requirements. Travel may be required up to 50% of the time. Valid Motor Vehicle Record with no restrictions or suspensions. Ability to drive a motorized vehicle.
