Perikin Enterprises is seeking a Project Engineer for a position at Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), Arnold AFB, TN. This position is in support of Perikin's contract to provide engineering services; program, project, financial, and information management; and administrative support to the Test Resource Management Center's (TRMC) High Speed Systems Test (HSST) program and Centralized Test & Evaluation Investment Program (CTEIP) Program Management Office (PMO) located at AEDC. The HSST program develops new technologies to improve test and evaluation (T&E) of high-speed and hypersonic systems. CTEIP executes projects to advance and integrate those technologies into the DoW's Major Range and Test Facility Bases (MRTFB). These missions are executed by entering into agreements with DoW, NASA, and DoE organizations and letting contracts to private industry and universities. The projects executed across the US under the HSST and CTEIP programs will transform America's hypersonic T&E capabilities. This Project Engineer position will have primary responsibility for the technical success of T&E technology development and test projects at AEDC and various hypersonic facilities across the country. Emphasis will be placed on the candidate's engineering background and their desire to further advance their engineering knowledge and skills. In addition, the Project Engineer will collaborate with the management team on contracting, scheduling, and financial management aspects of project management. This position is currently eligible for a hybrid work schedule. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES Specifically, the successful Project Engineer candidate will be responsible for: Supporting development of new ground test, flight test, instrumentation and analysis technologies and test techniques; Supporting planning, execution, analysis and reporting of aerodynamic wind tunnel ground test and evaluation; Assisting in independent engineering analysis in support of design validation, and in the process of technical issue resolution; Providing technical support to integrated product teams (IPTs) during the development of high energy test facility systems; Supporting test activities in long duration, short duration and shock tunnel aerodynamic test facilities; Supporting field installation and/or operational test activities as required; Coordinating requirements, plans and analysis objectives with internal and external test customers; Assisting in the preparation of detailed test plans; Monitoring, analyzing and reporting on ground test facility and/or flight test performance and delivery of final, validated data to customers; Assisting in the identification and resolution of design and operational deficiencies; Working with other support staff to manage cost and schedule and prepare monthly status reports of technical, financial and schedule performance; Tracking execution and notifying leadership of technical issues; Support Government, industry, and academia working groups on emerging aerodynamic ground test and evaluation of specialized technical areas of interest. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or an appropriate related discipline. Master's degree in engineering related field is highly desired. A minimum of 4 years of direct experience in engineering, planning, conducting and/or analyzing test programs in aeronautical ground test facilities. A minimum of 2 years of direct experience in supporting aerodynamic, materials, and/or propulsion ground test and evaluation programs. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Experience with aerospace ground test facility operational systems, to include, high pressure/high temperature systems, force measurement systems, facility and test article operations, and instrumentation and control systems. Experience in the development or use of mechanical system drawings, P&IDs, CM tools, maintenance training, and interface control documents is highly desired. Experience in supporting the generation of contract documents such as cost estimations and Statements of Work (SOW). An unwavering attention to detail, exemplary work ethic, and grace under pressure. The ability to build positive relationships with coworkers, customers and executing organizations. Mastery of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Expertise with AutoCAD, MATLAB, Python, and computational analysis tools are highly desired. Excellence in oral communication, technical writing and presentation preparation.
