Process Improvement Engineer (Temp-to-Hire) Location: Florham Park, NJ Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Type: Contract to possible Hire About the Role This newly created position supports a rapidly expanding Production Department that has recently doubled in size. While the company conducts a search for a permanent hire, they are seeking an experienced professional to evaluate current processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements within a manufacturing environment. This role is not hands-on machining-it is focused on evaluating workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing smarter, leaner operational processes. Key Responsibilities Assess current manufacturing processes on the production floor to identify opportunities for improvement. Analyze workflows to identify and resolve bottlenecks, waste, and inefficiencies. Recommend and help implement process changes to optimize production flow. Communicate findings, proposed changes, and process improvements to leadership and production teams. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure effective rollout and adoption of improvements. Support project management initiatives related to process optimization and operational efficiency. Required Experience & Skills Manufacturing background with experience on a production floor (required). Familiarity working around large manual machinery (not operating-process-focused). Mechanical or Electrical Engineering experience (3-5 years ideal). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement principles. Ability to identify waste and implement strategies to reduce it (Lean/Process Improvement mindset). Project management experience is a strong plus. Excellent communication skills, especially related to explaining process changes.
