What You'll Do Are you a detail-oriented professional who enjoys solving complex research questions while helping protect an organization from risk? As a Conflicts Analyst II, you will play an important role within the Firm's Business Intake & Conflicts Department, supporting attorneys as they evaluate potential new business and new hires. In this fast-paced environment, you'll research and analyze data tied to new matters, identify potential ethical or business-related conflicts of interest, and help ensure the Firm's policies and compliance standards are upheld. Working closely with attorneys and colleagues across the globe, you'll evaluate complex information, produce clear written analyses, and help guide the intake process from initial research through final approvals. Your work will directly support responsible decision-making while providing you with a unique global perspective on the business relationships that shape the Firm's daily operations. Success in this position requires strong judgment, clear communication, and the ability to balance accuracy, confidentiality, and responsiveness while working with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. • Conduct conflicts research and analysis - Perform detailed research and analysis related to potential new business to identify possible ethical and business-related conflicts of interest. • Verify search accuracy and compliance - Ensure conflicts searches are complete, consistent, and aligned with Firm policies and established procedures. • Prepare clear written analyses - Create well-organized summaries and reports that help attorneys evaluate and resolve potential conflicts issues. • Support business intake processing - Manage requests for conflicts searches, conduct the necessary research, and complete business intake forms to facilitate matter openings. • Coordinate issue resolution - Follow up with attorneys and department colleagues to clarify conflicts issues and help move matters toward resolution. • Collaborate on time-sensitive matters - Work closely with specialists, coordinators, and team members to address routine pre-engagement requests and restructuring-related matters. • Maintain responsive communication - Monitor and respond to department email inquiries with accurate information in a timely manner. • Represent the department professionally - Serve as a key point of contact for attorneys and internal stakeholders seeking guidance on conflicts and intake processes. • Improve processes and technology - Contribute ideas and support initiatives that strengthen procedures, reduce risk, and improve operational efficiency. • Support team development - Assist in training and onboarding other department team members. • Contribute to special initiatives - Participate in special projects and other assignments that support departmental goals and evolving business needs. What You'll Bring • Education - Bachelor's degree required; master's degree or Juris Doctor (J.D.) preferred. • Experience - Two to three years of experience in risk management, research, reference library services, conflicts analysis, or a related field preferred. • Research and analytical ability - Strong investigative and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex information and identify potential risks. • Attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to review large volumes of information carefully while maintaining precision and consistency. • Communication skills - Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings in an organized and concise manner. • Collaboration and professionalism - Comfort working with colleagues and attorneys across levels while maintaining discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality. • Judgment and problem-solving - Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities when evaluating potential conflicts or business considerations. • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment - Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and remain flexible as priorities evolve. • Customer service mindset - A proactive, responsive approach to supporting attorneys and internal stakeholders. • Availability - Willingness to work overtime during evening hours or weekends when business needs require. Compensation The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position in each of the below locations. This range may differ based on your geographic location and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary.
