As the manager of the Cloud Provisioning team, you will oversee our Infra Provisioning strategy and execution. You will be responsible for enhancing the developer experience regarding cloud account and infrastructure provisioning. You must be attuned to the needs of our internal engineers and excel in collaborating with cross-functional teams for alignment. Your Responsibilities: Build and lead engineering teams to develop innovative features and infrastructure for both web and mobile platforms. Coach your direct reports, fostering a positive impact on the organization and supporting their career growth. Work closely with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate our vision into a substantial quarterly roadmap. Break down complex projects into manageable components and lead the iterative design and implementation process. Serve as a thoughtful technical leader, guiding architectural decisions and cultivating a culture of high-quality code and engineering practices. Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure effective delivery and operation of scalable, multi-tenant distributed systems. Partner with our talent acquisition team to identify and recruit exceptional engineers who align with Coinbase's mission and values. Own and contribute to processes that enhance engineering quality and meet our engineering SLAs. Your Qualifications: At least 7 years of experience in software engineering. A minimum of 2 years in an engineering management role. Experience managing critical, high-traffic infrastructure, with skills in monitoring, Unix network debugging, scaling, and proactive performance and reliability improvement. Ability to balance strategic planning with immediate operational needs. Experience designing, delivering, and managing multitenant distributed services at scale. Willingness to be hands-on by writing/reviewing code, participating in on-call rotations, managing incidents, and troubleshooting bugs as necessary. A true passion for building an open financial system that connects the global community. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with distributed systems and knowledge of concepts like active-active cluster design. Experience navigating rapid growth in a tech organization (for example, scaling from 10 to hundreds of engineers). Previous experience building high-reliability financial or security systems. Job #: P75194 Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position ranges between $218,025 and $256,500 USD. Total compensation may also include equity, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
