Oral Surgery Assistant

Overview Join the dedicated team at Western Dental as an Oral Surgery Assistant, where your role as a dental auxiliary is crucial to providing top-notch patient care. In this position, you will work closely with our Oral Surgeons, ensuring excellent communication and assisting in various procedures. Our training programs are designed to equip both experienced and new Oral Surgery Assistants with the skills necessary for success and professional growth. A current radiation safety certificate for your state is required, as well as proficiency in taking and developing dental x-rays while adhering to infection control protocols. Responsibilities: Assist the Oral Surgeon during patient treatments, anticipating their needs and preparing for subsequent steps. Adhere to OSHA, Dental Board, and WDS guidelines effectively. Maintain accurate patient treatment records. Measure and record patients' blood pressure as needed. Provide patients with pre and post-operative instructions as directed by the Oral Surgeon. Deliver oral hygiene instructions to patients. Ensure all equipment and units are operational before treatment begins. Stock supplies in laboratories, restrooms, and labs as necessary. Notify the Floor Supervisor regarding supply restocking and equipment malfunctions. Perform all sterilization duties when required. Build positive rapport with both patients and staff members. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid RDA certification in your state (CA, AZ, NV). Current X-Ray License required. Certifications in CPR and ACLS are essential; OMSA or DAANCE certifications are preferred. Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) are highly valued. Willingness to travel is necessary. Open availability preferred.
