Your Role As a key member of Teradata's Product Engineering leadership team, you will lead the charge in developing cutting-edge intelligent architectures for AI within our data and analytics platform. Your expertise will play a vital role in shaping how Teradata enhances its offerings, enabling intelligent, scalable, and secure AI capabilities integrated within our hybrid cloud ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Drive the development of Teradata's AI strategy, emphasizing capabilities for agentic AI, GenAI, and advanced analytics on the Teradata VantageCloud platform. Design scalable AI-driven architectures using open table formats (Iceberg, Delta), advanced query engines (Trino, Presto, Spark), and efficient event streaming (Kafka, Pulsar). Integrate AI into Teradata's product suite via orchestration, context management, and long-term workflows utilizing frameworks like LangChain and Semantic Kernel, complemented by connectors to Amazon Bedrock and Azure OpenAI. Establish reusable patterns for AI/ML inference within customer-facing applications, focusing on reliability, explainability, and governance. Modernize our platform using microservices and Kubernetes-native deployments, ensuring secure and compliant AI services. Champion responsible AI practices by creating governance frameworks that ensure fairness, transparency, and integrity in AI-driven analytics. Conduct architectural reviews and align strategies across engineering teams to promote consistency, scalability, and innovation. Collaboration This role reports directly to the SVP of Product Engineering, AI, Analytics, Applications, and UX, collaborating closely across the Teradata ecosystem. You will: Guide engineering, design, and data science teams in AI architecture and strategic execution. Partner with the Office of the CTO to drive technology innovation and establish roadmaps. Collaborate with Infrastructure and Security Engineering to ensure that Teradata's AI services meet exceptional performance and security benchmarks. Engage with customers, partners, and go-to-market teams to comprehensively understand enterprise AI use cases, thereby influencing Teradata's product roadmap. Team up with R&D and innovation groups to investigate emerging AI technologies through proof-of-concept initiatives and assess their practical applications. Your Qualifications 15+ years of experience in enterprise architecture or distributed systems, particularly in large-scale analytics platforms. Proven record of successfully integrating AI and ML into enterprise-quality products at scale. Expertise in hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, ensuring secure integration with key cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). In-depth understanding of agentic AI frameworks, orchestration technologies, and generative AI implementation. Demonstrated experience in building production-level AI/ML inference pipelines with a strong focus on governance. Familiarity with open data formats, modern query engines, real-time streaming, and enterprise APIs. Proven success in transitioning platforms from monolithic architectures to microservices using Kubernetes for deployment. Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (PhD preferred). Salary Range: 239500 - 299300 - 359200 Annually Compensation will be determined based on geographic location, internal equity, and the candidate's qualifications.
