What You Can Expect Join Zoom as a Senior AI Security Engineer and take the lead in verifying the security of our innovative AI systems and pipelines. This pivotal role within the Security Assurance organization reports to the Head of Security Assurance. While it isn't a traditional red team position, it requires advanced adversarial thinking to scrutinize AI systems from a critical perspective. Your Mission: Verify and Innovate - You will independently assess, challenge, and ensure the security, safety, and integrity of all AI initiatives across Zoom. Your work will encompass AI in products, internal applications, training pipelines, model lifecycle management, and essential supporting infrastructure. This is a hands-on and experimental role, focused on real-world impacts rather than compliance. The Security Assurance team at Zoom operates with urgency to identify and mitigate critical security risks. We leverage an attacker's mindset, going beyond standard audits to solve deep vulnerabilities within our infrastructure and products. Our mission is to foster a culture of evidence-based decision-making and rigorous risk evaluation. Responsibilities: Lead comprehensive assessments of AI models, pipelines, and agents, employing offensive experimentation to test safety mechanisms and boundaries. Identify critical gaps in security, safety, or privacy controls and highlight discrepancies between claims and actual performance. Evaluate the entire AI lifecycle, focusing on risks such as model poisoning and prompt injection. Research and develop AI-powered security discovery systems that autonomously detect, predict, and prioritize vulnerabilities in Zoom's offerings. Automate offensive operations by creating AI frameworks that enhance red teaming and vulnerability discovery efforts. Incorporate the latest findings from offensive security research into our security assurance strategies. Establish methodologies for continuous adversarial testing, validation, and monitoring at scale. Effectively communicate risks and vulnerabilities to engineering and leadership, linking technical details with strategic outcomes. Remain updated on evolving AI technologies, threat vectors, and defensive measures to foster innovation in our security practices. What We're Looking For: Extensive understanding of generative AI systems and their security failure modes. Experience applying innovative AI/ML methods to solve security challenges. Proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow. Ability to critically analyze the behavior and limitations of AI systems through practical experimentation. Strong communication skills to convey high-impact risks to stakeholders. Willingness to challenge the status quo to enhance user safety. Experience in red teaming, exploit development, or vulnerability research. Salary Range: Minimum: $124,000.00 - Maximum: $271,200.00.
