Journeyman Licensed HVAC Techs

We have an Excellent career opportunity for an Journeyman Licensed HVAC Technicianto join a leading Company located in the Sparks, MD.Salary: $100,000 - $124,800Heavy Commercial Chiller Technician at Journeyman or Master level to install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, and overhaul large-capacity commercial and industrial chiller systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in high-tonnage chillers and hold Universal EPA refrigeration certification to ensure safe and compliant handling of refrigerants.Key Responsibilities Must have experience with overhauling Chillers. Install, commission, and service large commercial and industrial chiller systems Perform major mechanical overhauls on compressors, heat exchangers, and associated components Diagnose complex electrical, refrigeration, and control system issues Conduct performance testing, oil and refrigerant analysis, and system optimization Work with Building Automation and BMS control systems Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals Provide guidance and training to junior technicians Maintain detailed service records and inspection reports Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry regulations Respond to emergency service calls and critical system failures Required Qualifications Journeyman HVAC/Refrigeration license preferred Master HVAC/Refrigeration license preferred Universal EPA Section 608 Certification 5+ years experience servicing heavy commercial or industrial chillers Proven experience with centrifugal, screw, and large-tonnage chiller systems Strong knowledge of electrical controls, VFDs, and automation Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics Valid driver's license Preferred Skills Factory training on major chiller brands (Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, etc.) Experience with PLC and BMS integration Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills Work Conditions & Physical Requirements Field-based work at commercial and industrial facilities Ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces Must be available for on-call and emergency response Benefits offered vary by contract.
