As a Disaster Recovery Specialist, you will play a vital role in assisting applicants throughout their recovery journey. Key Responsibilities: Collect, organize, and assess applicant data to determine eligibility and prioritize requests. Conduct comprehensive audits for completeness and gather crucial data during Preliminary Damage Assessments (PDA). Maintain strong communication with applicants by coordinating regular meetings and tracking outstanding FEMA requests. Oversee the transmittal of documentation and arrange site inspections with applicants and inspectors. Validate claims through thorough reviews of damage details, scopes of work, and related costs. Participate in FEMA meetings to provide updates on claims, focusing on eligibility recommendations. Assist in drafting the Determination Memo and communicate outcomes to applicants at project close-out. Conduct informative exit briefings with applicants and perform additional tasks as required. Engage in site inspections to confirm damages and enhance the FEMA Public Assistance grant delivery process as necessary. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Five years of relevant experience (or two years with a bachelor’s degree). Must be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining a FEMA Badge, which includes undergoing a background investigation. Required Skills: Exceptional organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively. Outstanding attention to detail and superior customer service skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to adapt quickly to changes and maintain flexibility. Travel Requirements: 100% domestic travel is mandatory. Additional Information: Pay Range: $27.30 - $48.30 per hour. A valid driver's license is required for this position. This role involves working in both office and field locations.
