KPMG is thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. Key Responsibilities: Assist multi-state companies in managing state and local tax issues, including compliance, advisory, planning, controversies, and technical research. Review state income tax returns and schedule K-1 documents during preparation and post-review. Conduct thorough research and draft technical memoranda addressing income and franchise tax issues. Support clients in preparing for state and local tax controversies, including discussions with auditors and preparation of protests. Utilize advanced technology and innovative solutions to optimize state tax compliance processes. Supervise, mentor, and foster the development of junior staff members. Qualifications: A minimum of three years of experience in tax research, preparing/reviewing state income tax returns for corporations and partnerships, and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues. A Master's degree from an accredited institution (or a Bachelor's degree with adequate credit hours for CPA certification) or a JD/LLM. Strong relationship-building skills with colleagues and clients. Exceptional writing, compliance, communication, and tax research abilities.
