Job Description: Home Infusion Registered Nurse Purpose Statement Are you passionate about patient care and looking to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals receiving infusion therapy? As a Home Infusion RN, you will enable patients to receive specialized treatments such as IVIG, monoclonal antibodies, enzyme replacement, and clotting factors in the comfort of their own homes. Your expertise will enhance patient autonomy while ensuring they receive the highest quality of care. This role offers an exciting blend of clinical skills and compassionate patient interaction. You will be part of a dedicated team, reporting directly to the Area Director of Infusion Services. Required Education and Experience Current and valid RN license. A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with a preference for those with hospital infusion experience. Exceptional IV skills and a deep commitment to patient care. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in home care settings. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation. Certification in infusion therapy (CRNI) is a plus. Preferred experience in pediatrics and adult medical care. Responsibilities Administer infusion therapies according to physician orders and established protocols for IVIG, monoclonal antibodies, and more. Monitor and assess patients during therapy, ensuring their safety and the effectiveness of treatments. Educate patients and their families about procedures, potential side effects, and self-care practices. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized patient care plans. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments that address both physical and psychosocial needs. Accurately document patient care activities and treatment outcomes in a timely manner. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about industry best practices. Perform additional duties as assigned. Work Environment This position requires travel to patients' homes and other clinical settings. Flexibility in scheduling is important, as on-call responsibilities may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on individual agreements. Physical Demands Candidates must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds. This role involves potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous substances, necessitating strict adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as closed-toe shoes, facemask, gown, gloves, and goggles when required. A reliable communication device is essential for routine and emergency situations.
