As a key player in the data science team, you will play a vital role in guiding Coinbase's product and decision-making processes. Collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and Design teams, you will help shape our development roadmap and enhance our understanding of our users. Utilizing your expertise in experimentation, analytics, and advanced modeling, you will provide insights that significantly drive the company's success. As a Lead Data Scientist within the consumer organization, your expertise will be crucial in elevating user experiences across various Coinbase products—including spot and advanced trading, yield initiatives, Coinbase One (CB1), international expansion, and upcoming launches like prediction markets and equities trading. Your tasks will involve defining critical metrics, developing measurement and causal frameworks, and transforming insights into strategic product enhancements. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough analyses of complex issues to deliver actionable insights and recommendations that inform key decision-making. Manage extensive datasets and metrics, overseeing everything from data logging to visualization presentation. Lead code reviews and share your expertise in SQL and Python while ensuring efficient ETL processes. Uphold rigorous statistical standards within the team to ensure robust experimentation and causal analyses that inspire stakeholder confidence. Qualifications: A BA/BS in a quantitative field (such as Math, Statistics, Physics, or Computer Science) with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD in a quantitative field with 3+ years of applicable experience. Demonstrated experience in driving impactful data science projects in challenging problem sets. Ability to influence stakeholders by transforming data findings into compelling narratives. Practical knowledge of implementing complex modeling frameworks to tackle real-world business challenges. Professional proficiency in SQL and Python. Experience working with digital products in an iterative development environment. Salary Information: The target annual base salary for this position ranges from $180,370 to $212,200 USD, excluding bonuses, equity, and benefits.
