Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is seeking a Quality Supervisor in partnership with a prominent client in Binghamton, NY within the Machining industry. This role oversees the implementation and maintenance of quality systems to ensure that products and services meet company and customer standards. Summary Pay: $60k - 72k Shift: 1st Quality Supervisor Responsibilities: Review customer quality requirements and develop quality plans to meet those expectations. Communicate with customers throughout project development to address concerns, review issues, and maintain strong relationships, including occasional site visits. Lead and support Quality Inspectors through training, scheduling, and clear communication to ensure quality procedures are followed. Coordinate internal and external Material Review Boards (MRB) to address quality issues promptly. Prepare and submit required quality documentation such as PPAPs, FAIs, certificates of compliance, inspection reports, and calibration records. Conduct process audits to ensure manufacturing and quality staff follow established work instructions (e.g., VKS Learning System). Manage inspection tools and measurement equipment used by production and quality teams. Oversee customer and supplier corrective action requests and ensure timely resolution. Support continuous improvement initiatives through corrective and preventive actions. Train and assist production personnel on quality standards and procedures. Promote 5S and strong housekeeping practices across the facility. Design inspection gauges and tools (such as Go/No-Go gauges) to improve inspection efficiency. Provide training on blueprint reading, measurement techniques, tolerances, and customer requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Quality Supervisor Qualifications: High School Diploma/ GED Preferred: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in mechanical manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, spot welding, metal finishing, painting or powder coating, plating, and assembly of steel, stainless steel, or aluminum products. Strong knowledge of quality systems and manufacturing environments. Experience leading or supporting a team of Quality Inspectors. Background in mechanical fabrication or manufacturing. Excellent blueprint reading and interpretation skills. Understanding of GD&T is preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer use. Experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauge blocks, thread gauges, pin gauges, etc.). Knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and basic machine shop math. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment. Willing to travel occasionally to customer, supplier, or company locations.
