Morgan Services is seeking a motivated and hands-on Garment Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of our garment and flat shipping departments at our Los Angeles, CA facility. Garment Team Leader Hours/Schedules: Start time: 7:00am Days: Monday-Friday Garment Team Leader Primary Duties & Responsibilities: The Garment Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day operations of both the garment and flat shipping departments and ensures safety, processing standards and procedures are properly executed.  This responsibility is an essential function of the Los Angeles leadership team. Monitors member’s safety to ensure members are provided a hazard-free work environment. Ensures that department members adhere to and receive all safety and health training and regulations. On a daily basis reviews Garment Soil reports, Garment in Service report, Garment Still in Plant report, and verify garment shipments by checking packing slips for accuracy. Prepares work schedules. Ensure proper workflow of garments through the plant. Ensure that loads are 100% complete. On a weekly basis completes the following reports: Member efficiency Quality report Loads up report MPS Projects and status Payroll reports Completes Garment Department schedules to ensure proper workflow, high efficiency, and lowest cost. On a daily basis reviews the Garment Still-in-Plant report to ensure load completion. On a daily basis, monitors members’ efficiencies, conduct tunnel quality checks, minute checks, and first and final sort station checks for accuracy. Communicates to members on a daily basis their efficiency and quality results. Works with members on identifying methods of improving individual results. Coordinates with Service and Sales and Managers to ensure load completion, new customer orders are complete and change order completion. The Team Leader will prepare shortage reports and communicate all shortages to the plant, service and General Manager on a daily basis and plan for correction and improvement where possible. Develop and implement corrective action plans to address shortages, improve inventory turns, and strengthen overall product flow from plant to route. Drive accountability across departments to ensure plant production aligns with route demand and customer expectations. Coordinates with the Plant Manager and Maintenance Director (MD) to ensure all preventative maintenance tasks are completed. Identify any potential maintenance problems and reports them to the MD. Ensures that all daily team maintenance tasks (DTM) are complete. Works with other Managers on identifying areas of process improvement in the department or plant and leads or participates in MPS project teams. Identifies areas and means for process improvements and cost cutting. Completes reports, plans and methods of improvement. Submits the necessary documents to support conclusions. Leads overall department member training efforts. Documents all completed training. Identifies and acknowledges member(s) who perform to Company operational standards and quality standards. Works with members who are not performing at standard to reach standards through retraining and coaching. The Team Leader will maintain a department vacation schedule, ensuring that department is properly staffed during vacation by utilizing members from other departments and controlling over-time; handles departmental member disciplinary action (1st and 2nd member reminders) and informs the Plant Manager of all disciplinary action. Completes member get together on a bi-annual basis with all members. On an annual basis, completes one route ride-a-long and completes a product quality survey at customer location, quality of service survey and a value audit. Garment Team Leader Qualifications: Minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory experience College degree preferred but not required Must be able to commute daily to the Morgan Facility (905 Yale St, Los Angeles, CA 90012) Must have strong communication skills (written & verbal) Conversational in English/Spanish required Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & Outlook) preferred but NOT required Must have prior experience working with diverse groups of individuals Must have excellent organization & time management skills w/ ability to multitask Must be able/willing to pass a background check & drug screening (hair) Join the Morgan Family Today!
