Radiation Therapist-Morristown Medical Center-Full Time

Radiation Therapist Responsible for performing treatments on patients with radiation therapy as prescribed by Radiologist according to established practices and standards. Work closely with patients and provide support to them throughout the process by determining their needs, answering questions, and providing the best medical care possible. Principal Accountabilities: 1. Checks prescription, diagnosis, patient chart, and identification. 2. Liaises with physicist and supportive care personnel. 3. Prepares equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices, and positions patient according to prescription. 4. Enters data into computer and sets controls to operate and adjust equipment and regulate dosage. 5. Observes and reassures patient during treatment and reports unusual reactions to physician. 6. Performs and reviews imaging such as CBCT prior to the initiation of patient treatment. 7. Maintains records, reports, and files as required. 8. Follows principles of radiation protection for patient, self, and others. 9. Performs pretreatment check prior to the initiation of the first treatment. 10. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required: 1. Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program. 2. Active NJ Radiation therapy license. 3. ARRT Preferred: 1. Knowledge of Varian True Beam, Align RT, Aria, and Epic 2. Proficient in using medical imaging equipment. 3. SRS Experience a plus.
