Team Overview: The Growth team develops features, products, and systems that drive user growth systematically. Our holistic view on user engagement spans acquisition, retention, and a positive experience on the Coinbase platform from the first interaction to ongoing usage. We leverage growth tools across various channels including incentive programs, an innovative notifications system, an engaging logged-out web experience, and optimized onboarding for new users, ensuring that Coinbase remains the safest and fastest platform for buying, holding, and trading crypto assets. Your Responsibilities: Build and conduct experiments that propel the growth of Coinbase's retail offerings. Design scalable systems to address unique challenges using modern cloud technologies and industry best practices. Articulate a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling our backend systems and the team that supports them. Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to transform our product and technical vision into actionable roadmaps each quarter. Write clean, well-tested code that fulfills customer needs. What We Seek in You: You possess a minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience. You have designed, built, scaled, and maintained production services and understand service-oriented architectures. You prioritize high-quality, well-tested code to satisfy customer requirements. You are passionate about creating an open financial system that connects the world. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with product launches from initial concept to market. Familiarity with growth experiments or A/B testing methodologies. Knowledge of blockchain technologies (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.). Proficiency with technologies including Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB. Experience building highly reliable and secure fintech systems. Familiarity with onchain activities, interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain-based services. Compensation Information: The expected annual base salary for this position ranges from $186,065 to $218,900 USD. Full-time offers also include eligibility for bonuses, equity, and benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
