Description We are actively seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic team in addressing complex challenges in electric transmission. In this key role, you will serve as both a Lead Engineer and Technical Project Manager on high voltage electric transmission line design projects for major utilities. Your expertise will encompass overhead and underground systems, adhering to standards such as NESC, ASCE, ACI, and NEC for various capital and maintenance projects ranging from 34.5 kV to 765 kV. Your responsibilities will include managing a team of engineers who conduct engineering analyses, PLS-CADD modeling, structure loading calculations, foundation designs, and develop project drafts and specifications across engineering, environmental, permitting, and construction management phases. You will also engage with cutting-edge AI, automation, and digital design platforms to enhance grid modernization and boost design efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Oversee multiple design teams on various projects for diverse clients. Develop and nurture engineering talent through training and mentorship. Manage staff performance, including timesheet approvals and annual reviews. Contribute as a leadership team member in the Transmission Line Section. Generate responses to RFPs and proposals, defining scopes of work. Encourage innovative problem-solving to address complex client challenges. Promote continuous improvement initiatives and streamline processes. Forecast team workload, delegate tasks, and manage recruiting activities. Ensure the highest quality control standards are met in all deliverables. Build and maintain client relationships to support business development. Monitor project scope, schedule, and budget with the help of Project Managers. What We're Looking For (Required): Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience in high voltage electric utility transmission design. Proficiency with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE software. Engineer In Training (EIT) certification. A proven communicator capable of managing client relationships. Business acumen with a successful history of meeting project performance metrics. Availability for occasional onsite work and travel. A passion for mentoring and developing staff. Favorable Qualifications: 2+ years of supervisory experience. M.S. degree in Structural Engineering. Experience with TOWER software. P.E. certification or the ability to obtain P.E. certification within 6 months. Familiarity with LPILE, FAD, Mathcad, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GIS is a plus. Why Join Us?
