Job Description SURESTAFF is immediately hiring for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Inspector for a plastic injection molder company in Elgin, IL. A successful Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for inspecting, auditing, and reporting on materials, processes, and products using variable or attribute measuring instruments and techniques to ensure conformance with quality standards. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! Quality Assurance Inspector Shift Hours: 5am-5pm (rotating schedule). Overtime is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Inspector: Inspects manufactured and purchased products according to the latest documented and released inspection/control plans. Verifies product conformity and processes during production. Inspects or verifies inspection of products for qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics. Audits products and processes to determine compliance with order specifications (including Customer requirements and QP standards such as Routing BOM, packaging, processing specifications). Trains appropriately in production floor inspection, including promoting the use of inspection gauges and equipment on the floor where possible. Inspects manufactured and purchased products according to the latest documented and released inspection/control plans. Interprets engineering drawings and reports to Quality Management where product quality discrepancies exist. Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of capability. Assesses control charts and other recorded data for trends. Identifies and reports continuous improvement opportunities to Management that could result in production efficiencies, improved product quality, or cost savings. Identifies, segregates, and moves defective products to the appropriate quarantine areas. Prevents defective products from being shipped in accordance with nonconforming material control documentation. Initiates action in accordance with documented and released non-conforming material control procedures when a defective product is discovered. Notifies the Quality Engineer and the Shift Production Supervisor upon the discovery of the discrepant product. Makes decisions based on statistical knowledge and understanding of processes. Authority to release acceptable products for shipment. Promotes the use of statistical process control on processes for defect prevention vs. defect detection. Ensures acceptable Sorting/Rework operations and proper release for shipment to the customer. Participates as a member of assigned corrective actions or continuous improvement projects. Participates in Gage R&R or other studies. Calibrates appropriate measurement tools & equipment Required Qualifications of the Quality Assurance Inspector: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 2 years relevant experience. Ability to read, write and comprehend basic instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages and to interpret capability, average, standard deviation and X-Bar/R and other statistical graphs. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
