Job Description: Basic Function and Responsibilities The Dean of Business, Career, and Technical Education provides strategic and operational leadership for an integrated academic division that functions as a talent pipeline. The Dean bridges academic excellence with industry demand by overseeing division faculty, curricula, and community-facing auxiliary operations, as well as strategic collaboration for workforce partnerships. In addition to traditional academic leadership, the Dean is accountable for collaboration for workforce partnership development, alignment with real-time labor market data, and administrative oversight of the College's Early Childhood Center as a profitable and high?impact instructional and community asset. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities Academic and Workforce Alignment: Lead the division in developing and sustaining industry aligned programs that integrate employer input, work based learning, and labor market intelligence into curriculum design. Develop and implement a standardized process for program advisory committees. Workforce Partnership Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Workforce Development leadership to ensure curricula remain responsive, current, and directly connected to employment pathways. Curriculum and Program Oversight: Lead faculty in ensuring evidence based program review, accreditation compliance, and the development of new and revised programs that reflect evolving industry and student needs. Serve as principal investigator for the Carl Perkins grant. Fiscal and Enrollment Management: Lead budget execution, faculty load assignment, and student-centered course scheduling as levers for enrollment optimization and fiscal sustainability. Student Success and Equity: Champion high impact practices such as the Persistence Project, provide procedural leadership for academic integrity and appeals, and foster inclusive learning environments that support diverse learners. Early Childhood Center Oversight: Provide administrative leadership for the Early Childhood Center, ensuring regulatory compliance, fiscal accountability, staffing effectiveness, and integration as a living laboratory for Child Development programs. Faculty and Staff Leadership: Supervise, evaluate, and develop department chairs, faculty, and staff while maintaining high expectations for performance, collaboration, and accountability. Institutional Leadership: Serve as an active member of the Council of Deans, contributing to collegewide planning, policy implementation, and strategic execution. Supervision Received: This position reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Supervision Exercised: Provides administrative supervision over department chairs, faculty, division staff, and the Manager, Early Childhood Development Center. Requirements: Master's degree required; doctorate preferred. Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in higher education, including at least three (3) years of academic leadership. Demonstrated experience in workforce partnership development, sector based strategy, and applied learning environments. Experience managing Carl D. Perkins grant strongly preferred. Strong fiscal management, project execution, and people leadership skills. Advanced interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally, confidentially, and courteously with a wide range of constituents from diverse backgrounds including the Board, college Administration, faculty/staff, students, government, and the general public. Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Mobility to move from building to building on-Campus and to visit off-Campus entities. Work is performed in a general office environment and is generally sedentary in nature. Little or no exposure to adverse working conditions Additional Information: Salary range - $136,000 - $144,000 annually Schedule - Monday - Friday 8:15 am - 5:00 pm Based on the needs of the college and with Administrator approval, some positions at the college may have a hybrid schedule option available after 30 working days.
