Centerline is seeking an Electrical Apprentice. The person with the applicable qualifications, personality traits and references will join an existing team of electricians dedicated to expanding the organization to become one of the premier providers of services in the convergent telecom market for both government and commercial installations. The Electrician Apprentice’s central task is to assist the Electrician in order to facilitate the installation, repair and maintenance of wireless and wireline telecommunications equipment, and will performs many different tasks. What You Will Do: Assist Electrician This may involve doing basic tasks such as handing the tools Working independently from the electrician at times on electrical tasks that require less skills or experience As he or she progresses they will be given more independence in completing tasks Wire Pulling Installation of AC & DC circuits in conduit Installation of fiber optic cable in conduit Installation and termination of CAT5 Maintenance Testing malfunctioning equipment, identifying defects. Troubleshooting and repairing / replacement of defective parts. Complete Installations Installation of all AC/DC circuits at wireless telecommunications facilities. Installation of conduit paths for both wireline and wireless telecommunications facilities. Installation of Fiber optic cabling to provide backhaul circuits for wireless telecommunications sites. Installation of AC/DC Generators for backup power at wireless telecommunications sites. What You Will Need: High School Diploma 1 + year experience working with Electricians in either residential or commercial jobs Basic mechanical abilities with hand tools and simple power tools. Ability to work independently from the electrician on tasks that require less skills or experience Ability to read, comprehend and carry out written and verbal instructions. Observe all company procedures and safety rules. Must have a journeyman's license or working towards completion Must be authorized to work in the US Must have a valid driver's license and pass a DOT Must agree to pre-employment drug testing and background check Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, use hands to finger/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk or hear. Occasionally the work requires the employee to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may be required to lift or carry up to 10 or 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50lbs. The employee needs to have good vision for close work, distance, color discrimination, peripheral, and depth perception. Expected compensation includes $20 to $25 an hour and benefits including medical, vision, and dental benefits, and 401k retirement plan available for eligible employees. Compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as an individual’s education, training, experience, skills, geographic location, seniority, merit, and other factors that are job related and consistent with business need.
